  • The Baltimore Department of Finance is partnering with PromisePay to give residents a new option to pay residential property tax bills from 2025 and earlier. Eligible residents can split their balance into smaller, more manageable monthly payments instead of paying the full amount all at once.

  • Any resident with residential property tax bills from 2025 and earlier.

  • Residents can enroll in a PromisePay Payment plan until May 12th at 11:59 PM 2026.

  • Eligible residents can break their residential property tax bills into monthly payments. With this program, you can:

    • Pay over time with monthly installments that fit your budget
    • Use a secure, easy-to-use platform to manage your payments and stay on track
  • Yes, for credit/debit transactions a 2.39% fee will apply to all transactions and will be paid by the resident. For all bank transfer (ACH) transactions there is not a transaction fee.

  • You can enroll in just a few minutes by following these steps:

    1. Choose a plan that works for you. There are multiple options available.
    2. Make your first payment using a credit/debit card or a bank transfer (ACH). The minimum monthly payment is $25.
    3. Pay over time. We make it easy with automated monthly payments and helpful reminders.
  • You can check your eligibility by visiting: baltimore-dof.promise-pay.com. Just enter your property details to see if you qualify for a flexible payment plan.

  • Your payment plan includes:

    • Your residential property tax bills from 2025 and earlier.
  • This payment plan only covers your residential property tax bills from 2025 and earlier.

    Any new residential property tax bills incurred after you enroll in a plan should be paid directly to the Baltimore Department of Finance. For questions about paying any other bills, please contact the Baltimore Department of Finance directly at 410-396-3000.

  • PromisePay plans are designed to be flexible so residents can stay on track. You can:

    • Update your payment method
    • Change your monthly payment date
    • Request an extension for a specific monthly payment

    Just make sure at least one payment is made each month to stay enrolled and in good standing.

  • Yes, interest and penalties will still apply to your account while you are in an active PromisePay plan.

  • To stay in good standing:

    • Start a PromisePay plan and make all your payments on time, and
    • Pay any new tax bills from the Baltimore Department of Finance by their due date.

    As long as you do both, you won't face legal penalties.
